NBA on UK TV — Sky Sports NBA, League Pass and Christmas Day Games

Sky Sports NBA shows the headline weekly slate. NBA League Pass is the every-game streamer for hardcore fans. Here is what each costs and what it gets you.

The NBA UK broadcast picture is a two-option arrangement: the linear/curated experience on Sky Sports, or the every-game streaming option direct from the league. There is no third option this cycle — TNT Sports does not hold any NBA UK rights, despite the brand confusion with TNT’s US NBA package.

Sky Sports NBA — the curated package

Sky Sports NBA is a dedicated channel within the Sky Sports package. It carries approximately 200 regular-season games per season, with a heavier weight on Eastern Conference broadcasts due to the UK time-zone alignment with East Coast tipoffs (00:00 to 03:00 UK time on weeknights, 19:00 to 23:00 UK time on Saturdays for the Saturday-night ABC games).

The full Christmas Day slate is on Sky Sports NBA each year. The All-Star Weekend in February — Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest, Slam Dunk Contest, the All-Star Game itself — is also on Sky Sports NBA, typically broadcast live overnight UK time on the Sunday morning following.

Playoff coverage is comprehensive: Sky Sports NBA carries every Conference Final game, every NBA Finals game, and the majority of the second-round and first-round Conference series. The Conference Finals and NBA Finals are typically also simulcast on Sky Sports Main Event for the showcase Sunday-night Game 7 fixtures.

NBA League Pass — the every-game streamer

NBA League Pass is the league’s direct subscription service. It offers every regular-season game live and on-demand, with no blackouts in the UK (US blackout rules do not apply). The full subscription is £15.99 per month or £109.99 for the season, with a Team Pass option at £64.99 per season that limits viewing to one chosen team.

League Pass does NOT include the NBA Playoffs as part of the standard subscription — the playoffs become free-with-subscription in the late stages, but in the early rounds League Pass viewers see the same broadcast as Sky Sports NBA viewers under the existing rights split. The All-Star Weekend is included on League Pass.

Subscription cost reality

Sky Sports NBA is part of the Sky Sports package — roughly £40-£46 per month on a Sky contract, or £34.99 per month on a NOW Sports Membership. NBA League Pass at £15.99 per month is the lighter-weight option for fans whose primary interest is following a specific team rather than the headline weekly slate.

Both services together — Sky + League Pass — runs roughly £50-£60 per month and gives full NBA coverage with no gaps.

Useful editorial sources
